Your First Visit
Your child’s first visit at Therapy Clubhouse is designed to feel welcoming, calm, and easy to understand. We take time to learn about your child’s strengths, your concerns, your family routines, and the specific skills you want support with. Depending on your child’s needs, the first appointment may include observation, parent conversation, play-based interaction, informal skill checks, and a review of any referral information or previous evaluations. Our goal is not to overwhelm your child or rush your family through a checklist. We want to understand how your child communicates, moves, plays, responds to sensory input, participates in routines, and engages with the world around them. From there, we explain what therapy may look like, what goals may be appropriate, and how speech therapy or occupational therapy can support your child in daily life.
Therapy Clubhouse works with families through several access pathways, including Tri-Counties Regional Center, and available private payment options. Many families come to us through Early Start or Early Intervention referrals, while others reach out directly because they have concerns about speech, language, sensory processing, fine motor skills, school readiness, or daily routines. We help families understand the next step based on their child’s needs and the type of service being requested. Payment and authorization questions can feel confusing, especially when parents are already trying to support a child who needs therapy. Therapy Clubhouse keeps this part of the process as clear as possible. Our team can help you understand whether your child’s services may be connected to a Regional Center authorization, what information may be needed to get started, and what options may be available if your family is seeking care outside of Regional Center services.
