Therapy Clubhouse provides speech and occupational therapy authorized through Tri-Counties Regional Center for children who qualify for Early Start. For many families, navigating developmental concerns can feel overwhelming at first. Parents are often introduced to evaluations, recommendations, and unfamiliar terminology all at the same time. Therapy Clubhouse helps simplify that process by providing Early Start speech therapy and occupational therapy services authorized through Tri-Counties Regional Center. As a contracted provider, we work directly with qualifying families who have been approved for Early Start services and are looking for supportive, family-centered care.

This partnership with Tri-Counties Regional Center is one of the most important ways Therapy Clubhouse serves local families. Rather than searching for providers on their own, parents can access therapy services through an established Early Start pathway designed specifically for children from birth through age three who have developmental delays or developmental concerns. Our team focuses on making the process approachable while helping children build skills that support communication, participation, learning, and everyday routines.

Tri-Counties Regional Center administers California’s Early Start program throughout Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo Counties. Early Start was created to provide developmental evaluations and intervention services for infants and toddlers who have developmental delays or who may be at risk for developmental challenges. Families who qualify can access services at no cost, allowing children to receive support during some of the most important years of development.

Early Start serves children from birth through age three who demonstrate developmental delays, have established risk conditions, or meet other eligibility criteria established by California’s early intervention system. The CDC’s milestone checklists and ASHA’s communication milestones set out what is typical at each age, and about 1 in 6 US children ages 3 to 17 has one or more developmental differences. Developmental concerns may involve communication skills, language development, motor skills, social-emotional development, sensory processing, or other foundational areas that affect how a child participates in everyday activities.

Many parents are unsure whether their concerns are significant enough to pursue an evaluation. Some notice their child is not using words consistently, while others see challenges with play, interaction, transitions, or daily routines. Early Start evaluations help families better understand their child’s strengths and developmental needs while identifying whether intervention services may be beneficial. Therapy Clubhouse works with families throughout this process by providing supportive care and practical guidance once services have been authorized.
