Speech Sound Mastery
Help your child produce sounds clearly and confidently through play-based therapy techniques.
Explore Speech Sound MasteryIf you are wondering whether your child needs speech therapy, the first step is not a commitment to weekly sessions. It is a speech and language evaluation: a structured, play-based assessment by a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist that answers one question clearly — is your child's communication developing as expected for their age?
A pediatric speech evaluation combines parent interview, structured play, and standardized assessment. Your SLP observes how your child understands language, expresses wants and needs, produces speech sounds, and engages socially. For most children the evaluation takes 60 to 90 minutes, and because Therapy Clubhouse evaluates in your home or via telehealth, your child is assessed where they are most comfortable — which produces a more accurate picture than an unfamiliar office.
Therapy Clubhouse serves families in Westlake Village and nearby Southern California communities through pediatric speech therapy, occupational therapy, Early Intervention support, in-home therapy, telehealth, and clinic-based care.

Depending on your child's age and your concerns, the evaluation may look at receptive language (what your child understands), expressive language (what they can say), articulation and speech-sound development, fluency (including stuttering), social communication, and play skills. If motor or sensory concerns come up, we may also recommend an occupational therapy evaluation.
Trust your instinct — parents are usually right. Common reasons families book an evaluation include: few or no words by 18 months, not combining two words by age 2, speech that is hard for strangers to understand at age 3, frustration when communicating, loss of previously used words, or a teacher or pediatrician raising a concern. An evaluation either gives you a plan or gives you peace of mind. Both are good outcomes.
You receive a written report in plain language: your child's strengths, any areas of delay, and a specific recommendation. If therapy is recommended, we set measurable goals and a session schedule with you. If it is not, we tell you that honestly and give you milestones to watch.
