Is the consultation really free, and what about the evaluation?
Yes, the 15-minute consultation is genuinely free and comes with no obligation. It’s a friendly conversation with a licensed speech or occupational therapist to hear your concerns, answer any and all of your questions, and point you toward the right next step. It is not an evaluation.
If therapy looks like a fit, the next step is a comprehensive evaluation, a separate, in-depth, play-based assessment that maps your child’s strengths and needs and shapes their plan. What if my child is under 3? Early Start and TCRC in Ventura County
Children from birth to 36 months in Ventura County may qualify for Early Start services through Tri-Counties Regional Center (TCRC), and Therapy Clubhouse is a vendored TCRC provider. If you have concerns about your baby or toddler’s development, it’s worth starting the conversation early.

The NIDCD estimates that 8 to 9% of young children have a speech sound disorder. If a concern could be medical (new changes, possible hearing issues, or anything that worries your pediatrician), start there, and we’ll gladly work alongside your child’s doctor.

Working alongside your Ventura school team
A Ventura child may attend a school in the Ventura Unified School District. School-based support and private therapy are not the same thing. School services are tied to how a child is doing in the educational setting and carry their own eligibility process. Private speech therapy and occupational therapy focus on the goals you and your therapist set for your child. A family can use both. With your written consent, our team can speak with your child’s school.
Ventura is in Ventura County, which Tri-Counties Regional Center serves
A child under age 3 who qualifies may receive Early Start services through Tri-Counties Regional Center. Tri-Counties covers Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties. Therapy Clubhouse is a contracted Tri-Counties provider for Early Start speech therapy and occupational therapy. You do not need a doctor to refer you: a parent can contact Tri-Counties Regional Center directly to begin an Early Start referral.
