Yes, the consultation is free, and it is not the same as an evaluation. The 15-minute consultation is genuinely free and comes with no obligation. It is a conversation with a licensed therapist to answer your questions and suggest a next step. It is not an evaluation. If therapy is a fit, the next step is a comprehensive, play-based evaluation (insurance can be used through Village, or you can pay privately with a superbill for possible reimbursement) that maps your child’s strengths and needs. No diagnosis is required to begin.
What if my child is under 3?
Children from birth to 36 months in Ventura County may qualify for Early Start through Tri-Counties Regional Center (TCRC), and Therapy Clubhouse is a vendored TCRC provider. For context, about 1 in 6 children ages 3 through 17 has one or more developmental disabilities (CDC). Here’s how Early Start works.
Can you support my child’s school or IEP?
Yes, we can support your child's school plan or IEP. Private therapy complements school services rather than replacing them. Our occupational therapist has years of school-based experience and knows the IEP process.

School-based support and private therapy are not the same thing: school services are tied to how a child is doing in the educational setting and carry their own eligibility process, while private speech therapy and occupational therapy focus on the goals you and your therapist set for your child. The two can work side by side, and with your written consent we are happy to coordinate with your school team.
Camarillo is in Ventura County, so Early Start may come through Tri-Counties
Because Camarillo sits in Ventura County, a child under age 3 who qualifies may receive Early Start through Tri-Counties Regional Center, which covers Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties. Therapy Clubhouse is a contracted Tri-Counties provider for Early Start speech therapy and occupational therapy. You do not need a doctor to refer you: a parent can contact Tri-Counties directly to begin an Early Start referral, and you are welcome to call us with questions.
How therapy actually works for Camarillo families

In-home sessions let your child practice new skills in the rooms where they already play, eat, dress, and do homework. Telehealth is available when that fits your schedule better.
