Pediatric Speech & OT in Camarillo, CA

Pediatric Speech & OT in Camarillo, CA

Maybe a teacher at your Camarillo school mentioned your child’s handwriting is hard to read, or your toddler still isn’t stringing words together the way you expected. Those small worries are worth listening to. Therapy Clubhouse provides pediatric speech-language therapy and occupational therapy for Camarillo children from birth through age 18, through in-home visits and telehealth today, with a Westlake Village clinic opening on November 1, 2026. Every family starts with a free 15-minute consultation with a licensed speech or occupational therapist: no obligation, just answers.

What does pediatric speech therapy in Camarillo help with?

Speech therapy helps children understand language, speak clearly, and connect with the people around them, late talking, hard-to-understand speech, stuttering, childhood apraxia of speech, social communication, and AAC for children who are minimally speaking. We also coach parents, so progress keeps building in everyday Camarillo routines, not just in session.

Camarillo

What does pediatric occupational therapy in Camarillo help with?

Occupational therapy builds handwriting and fine-motor skills, sensory processing and self-regulation, coordination, and independence with daily tasks like dressing and using utensils. If your child avoids coloring and cutting, tires quickly at the table, or is easily overwhelmed by noise and textures, an OT evaluation finds the root cause and makes those everyday moments easier.

How do I know if my child needs speech or occupational therapy?

Trust what you notice: few words by age two, speech strangers can’t understand by age three, messy or effortful handwriting, big reactions to sound or textures, or lost skills. You don’t need a diagnosis to ask. The NIDCD notes 8 to 9% of young children have a speech sound disorder, so noticing a concern is common, and an early look either reassures you or gets help started.

Do you offer therapy across Camarillo: in-home and telehealth?

Yes. Camarillo sits on the Ventura County side of our area, so in-home visits and telehealth are how we serve most families here today, with our in-person clinic opening in Westlake Village on November 1, 2026. In-home sessions fold practice into your child’s real routines and Pleasant Valley school schedules; telehealth keeps it flexible.

Is the consultation free, and what’s the difference from an evaluation?

Yes. The 15-minute consultation is genuinely free and comes with no obligation, a conversation with a licensed therapist to answer your questions and suggest a next step. It is not an evaluation. If therapy is a fit, the next step is a comprehensive, play-based evaluation (we are private pay and out of network, and we provide superbills you can submit for possible reimbursement) that maps your child’s strengths and needs. No diagnosis is required to begin.

What if my child is under 3?

Children from birth to 36 months in Ventura County may qualify for Early Start through Tri-Counties Regional Center (TCRC), and Therapy Clubhouse is a vendored TCRC provider. Because the earliest years are when development moves fastest, about 1 in 6 children ages 3 to 17 has a developmental disability (CDC), starting early gives your child more options. Here’s how Early Start works.

Can you support my child’s school or IEP?

Yes. Private therapy complements school services rather than replacing them. Our occupational therapist has years of school-based experience and knows the IEP process, and private sessions are more frequent and individualized. Many Camarillo families use both together.

Serving Camarillo families

We work with families across Camarillo and Oxnard, Moorpark, and the Santa Rosa Valley.

Working alongside your Camarillo school team

Many Camarillo children attend schools in the Pleasant Valley School District. School based support and private therapy are not the same thing: school services are tied to how a child is doing in the educational setting and carry their own eligibility process, while private speech therapy and occupational therapy focuses on the goals you and your therapist set for your child. Plenty of families use both, and we are happy to coordinate with your school team when that helps.

Camarillo is in Ventura County, so Early Start runs through Tri-Counties

Because Camarillo sits in Ventura County, children under age 3 are served by Tri-Counties Regional Center, which covers Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties. Therapy Clubhouse is a contracted Tri-Counties provider for Early Start speech therapy and occupational therapy. You do not need a doctor to refer you: a parent can call Tri-Counties directly at (800) 664-3177 to begin an Early Start referral, and we are glad to explain what to expect first.

How therapy actually works for Camarillo families

Right now we come to you. In-home sessions let your child practice new skills in the rooms where they already play, eat, dress, and do homework, which is often where families most want to see change. Telehealth is available when that fits your schedule better. Our Westlake Village clinic opens on November 1, 2026, adding a clinic option for Camarillo families who would rather come to us.

Questions about your own child in Camarillo? Call or text (805) 702-3427 and we will talk it through.

Prefer online sessions, or outside our in-person area? We provide online speech and occupational therapy across California, by live video, with no telehealth waitlist.
