Therapy Clubhouse provides in-home and telehealth pediatric speech therapy to families in Tarzana, for children from birth to 18. If your child is approaching three and currently has Early Start services, this is the part of the system worth understanding before it arrives.
Early Start runs from birth to three and is coordinated by regional centers and public school districts. On your child's third birthday it ends. It does not taper, and it does not automatically become something else. Responsibility moves to your school district, and the two systems have different eligibility rules, different assessments and different people.
Start the district conversation before the birthday, not after it. If services are going to lapse, it helps to know while your child still has support. Private therapy can give a child steady support through the change at age three.

That last one is worth saying plainly: being told your child does not qualify is a statement about a legal threshold, not a statement about your child.

We work in your home rather than a clinic, because a skill that only appears in a quiet therapy room has not finished being learned. Telehealth suits school-age children doing articulation or fluency work well, and we will tell you frankly when we think being in the room matters more.
Tarzana is served by North Los Angeles County Regional Center, main office Chatsworth. A parent can contact the regional center directly to begin an Early Start referral. Eligibility can rest on a 25% delay in one or more areas of development, two or more combined risk factors, or an established risk condition. NLACRC says it will complete evaluations and assessments within 45 days of receiving a referral. For the over-three process, NLACRC says eligibility determination may take up to 120 days.
Tarzana is within Los Angeles Unified. If you want an assessment and it has not been offered, make the request in writing. A dated email starts statutory timelines that a conversation at pickup does not.
We do not provide applied behavior analysis, behavioral therapy or counseling, music therapy, or nutrition services, and we do not diagnose autism, ADHD or any other condition. We describe what we see, put it in writing, and refer onward when that is the right answer.
Tarzana speech clients work with Nita Anavim, M.S., CCC-SLP, a licensed speech-language pathologist holding the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
