Studio City is about twenty two miles from our Westlake Village base, which is beyond the range where we can promise weekly in home visits. We will not pretend otherwise. In home appointments here are limited and tightly clustered, and for most Studio City families California telehealth delivers more actual therapy per month than a long drive can support. Your child must be physically located in California during any telehealth session. Schools and funding in Studio City
Studio City is part of Los Angeles Unified School District. Local campuses include Carpenter Community Charter on Carpenter Avenue, a kindergarten through fifth grade school open since 1924 with a gifted and talented program, and Walter Reed Middle School on Irvine Avenue, which runs one of the few highly gifted programs in the district. When you request a district assessment, LAUSD answers a specific legal question, which is whether a difficulty is affecting your child educationally. That is narrower than whether your child would benefit from therapy, and plenty of children who fall short of the district threshold still make real progress with support.
Studio City has a dense independent school population along the Ventura Boulevard corridor. If your child attends an independent school, the district assessment route is generally unavailable, which means no free evaluation to wait for and no eligibility threshold to clear. Private therapy is not a supplement in that situation. It is the whole pathway, and it is one of the most common reasons families in this area call us.
Children under three are served through Early Start, which runs through the Regional Center rather than the school district. Responsibility shifts toward the district at the third birthday, so the months either side of turning three are when waiting costs the most. On Regional Center funding, be straight with you: Studio City sits in Los Angeles County, which is served by North Los Angeles County Regional Center. We are a Tri-Counties Regional Center provider, and Tri-Counties covers Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties rather than Los Angeles County. That means Studio City families are generally private pay with us. If your child is already an NLACRC client, ask them whether an out of area arrangement is possible and we will happily speak with your service coordinator. We would rather tell you this upfront than after an evaluation.
We are private pay and out of network. We provide superbills you can submit to your insurer for possible out of network reimbursement, and we will never claim to be in network with a plan when we are not. Payment options.
What we do not provide
Speech therapy and occupational therapy only. We do not provide applied behavior analysis, feeding or swallowing therapy, mental health counseling or psychological testing, and we are pediatric only so we are not the right call for an adult. We refer out rather than take an appointment we cannot serve well.
