Pediatric Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy in Encino, CA
Encino parents: if you already have a diagnosis, what happens on Tuesday?
What happens on Tuesday is a plan. A report may name autism, apraxia, sensory processing differences or a developmental delay. A name alone does not give you a plan for the week ahead.
Call (805) 702-3427 for a free fifteen minute conversation with a licensed clinician, answered within one business day, or send the reports over.
No waiting list as of October 2026
As of October 2026, there is no waiting list here for in-home or telehealth therapy. Call (805) 702-3427 and we will tell you what is genuinely open.
Who treats your child
Your child is treated by one of two clinicians with no handoff, which matters more than usual if therapy has already stalled somewhere else.
Occupational therapist, USC trained, NBCOT certified, California licensed, with USC sensory integration training. Rachel covers handwriting and fine motor skill, sensory processing, coordination, dressing and feeding independence, and classroom readiness.
Both are glad to read any reports you send. Read their full bios.
Encino schools and the report in your hand
Public schools here are Los Angeles Unified.
An LAUSD assessment answers a legal question about educational impact. A private evaluation answers a clinical one about benefit. If you already hold a district report that said no, that is not a verdict on your child, and we would rather read it than repeat it.
Federal special education law still applies to private school students. Each public school district must locate, identify, and evaluate children with disabilities whose parents enroll them in private elementary and secondary schools in its area. A private evaluation does not depend on that process. If you already hold a private report, you are welcome to send it.
Encino is served by North Los Angeles County Regional Center, 9200 Oakdale Avenue, Chatsworth. Assignment follows health district rather than city line, so verify your address on the state DDS lookup. Children under three who qualify can get Early Start through the regional center that serves your address. Important: we are a Tri-Counties Regional Center provider, and Tri-Counties covers Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties rather than Los Angeles County. That means families here use insurance through Village or pay privately with us. We would rather tell you this upfront than after an evaluation. See Regional Center and early intervention.
Turning a diagnosis into a week that works
Reports describe. Therapy decides what to work on first, in what order, and how you will know it worked.
Prior evaluations, school documents, the assessment you paid for two years ago. We would rather read what you already have.
Not percentile movement. Whether your child asked for the cup, managed the zipper, sat through the meal. A goal you cannot notice at home is written badly.
Here, the clinician who assesses your child is the clinician who treats your child. Nothing has to carry across from one person to another.
Written to be handed to a pediatrician or read aloud at a school meeting. Our evaluation process.
Fees and what we do not do
Insurance can be used through Village. You can also pay privately, and we give you a superbill. Payment options. Outside our practice: applied behavior analysis, complex swallowing problems, psychological care, adult clients. Those get referred to people who do them properly.
Encino questions
That is a good question for the free call. You are welcome to send the reports first.
Yes. The written report arrives within 14 business days of the evaluation. If it recommends therapy, a therapy plan comes with it, and you can take both elsewhere.
Yes. Encino is in our home-visit area.
What differs is continuity of clinician. It might not be enough, and we will say so if we think that.
As of October 2026, in-home and telehealth therapy here have no waiting list. Call and we will tell you what is open this week.
