West Hills parents: should you act now, or is waiting reasonable?
That is the question behind this page. Not what therapy costs, not how it works. Whether this is the moment.
Call (805) 702-3427 and ask a licensed clinician directly. Fifteen minutes, free, answered inside one business day, or write instead.
No waiting list as of October 2026
As of October 2026, there is no waiting list here for in-home or telehealth therapy. Call (805) 702-3427 and we will tell you what is genuinely open.
Who treats your child
Your child is treated by one of two clinicians, with no rotating roster, and the person who assesses your child is the person who treats them.

West Hills schools and what a district assessment really tests
West Hills is Los Angeles Unified, and the school your child is assigned to depends on your home address.
When you ask LAUSD to assess, the district is answering a legal question about educational impact, not a clinical question about whether your child would benefit from therapy. The two answers can differ. A private evaluation answers the second question, and the report belongs to you.
Federal law still applies to children in private schools. It requires each public school district to locate, identify, and evaluate children with disabilities whose parents enroll them in private elementary and secondary schools in its area. A private evaluation is a separate choice. The question to ask is whether it would tell you something useful about your child.
West Hills is served by North Los Angeles County Regional Center, 9200 Oakdale Avenue, Chatsworth. Assignment follows health district rather than city line, so verify your address on the state DDS lookup. Children under three who qualify can get Early Start through the regional center that serves your address. Important: we are a Tri-Counties Regional Center provider, and Tri-Counties covers Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties rather than Los Angeles County. That means families here use insurance through Village or pay privately with us. We would rather tell you this upfront than after an evaluation. See Regional Center and early intervention.
How we decide with you whether to wait
A toddler with few words who keeps adding them sits differently from one whose progress flattened four months ago. We ask about direction, not a snapshot.
The same observation can mean different things at two and at five.
A child may avoid the pencil, go quiet or stay off the jungle gym. When a difficulty starts shaping what a child will attempt, it can be a good time to ask a question.
If you decide to wait, we can check in with you in a month or two to see how your child is doing.
Fees and what we do not do
Insurance can be used through Village. You can also pay privately, and we give you a superbill. Payment options. Outside our practice: applied behavior analysis, complex swallowing problems, psychological care, adult clients. Those get referred to people who do them properly.
West Hills questions
Your pediatrician's advice matters. If you are struggling with this at home, a free 15-minute call is an easy way to talk it through.
The downside of evaluating early is time and cost, not harm. And you get a baseline worth having even if the answer is that nothing is needed.
If an evaluation shows that therapy is not needed, you still get the written report. That is a good outcome.
As of October 2026, we can start an evaluation within 3 business days of your free call. Your child's first session can be as soon as 5 days after you call, for in-home and telehealth.
