Therapy Clubhouse provides licensed pediatric occupational therapy to children from birth to eighteen in Ventura. We are a pediatric only practice, and the clinician who evaluates your child is the clinician who treats them. Call (805) 702-3427 for a free fifteen minute consultation with a licensed clinician. As of October 2026, there is no waiting list here for in-home or telehealth therapy. There is no obligation, and you get a reply within one business day. Ventura is in our home-visit area, so sessions can happen in your home. Video sessions are available too, and you can move between video and home visits whenever you like. Your child must be physically located in California during any telehealth session.

When a child clearly knows the answer but resists writing it, the obstacle may be motor rather than academic. Grip, strength, endurance and letter formation all have to work together. Routines that consistently take far longer than they should can point to motor planning or sensory processing differences rather than defiance. Buttons, zips and laces need strength, coordination and sequencing at once, which makes them a clear window into fine motor development.

Schools and funding in Ventura
Ventura Unified School District serves the city. A district assessment answers a legal question about educational impact, which is narrower than whether your child would benefit from therapy. A child who does not qualify through the district may still benefit from therapy. Federal law still applies to children in independent and parochial schools. It requires each public school district to locate, identify, and evaluate children with disabilities whose parents enroll them in private elementary and secondary schools, religious schools included, in its area.
Ventura County is served by Tri-Counties Regional Center, which also covers Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. Tri-Counties is the Regional Center we work with. Tri-Counties has its own referral line. Children under three who qualify may get Early Start. At the third birthday, responsibility shifts toward the district. There are three ways to pay: insurance through Village, private pay with a superbill, or Regional Center funding if your child qualifies. We provide superbills you can submit to your insurer for possible out of network reimbursement, and we will never claim to be in network with a plan when we are not. For eligible families, Regional Center and Early Start funding may apply through Tri-Counties, and we will give you an honest read on whether yours might qualify.
Who works with your child
Rachel Yashouafar, MA, OTR/L, is an occupational therapist, USC trained, NBCOT certified, licensed in California, with USC sensory integration training. This is a two clinician practice, so your family is not passed between a rotating roster.
