Evaluation within 3 business days after your free 15-minute call

A teacher may have said the words speech evaluation. Or something about how your child talks may keep nagging at you. A pediatric speech evaluation in Studio City is a play-based assessment.

A licensed speech-language pathologist guides the visit. The therapist may notice how clearly sounds are made, what a child understands, and how words come together. No diagnosis or referral is needed.

In Studio City, could the evaluation take place at home, and how soon?

We visit homes in Studio City, and video works as well. After a free 15-minute call, an evaluation that would help takes place within 3 business days.

For a school visit, two things must line up: the school's agreement and your written consent. If you prefer an office, just ask, and we can use a private office that is on Townsgate Road in Westlake Village. Plan on an evaluation of about 60 to 90 minutes, a range that shifts with your child's age, the areas we explore, and the day itself.

As of October 2026, a family starting in-home or telehealth therapy here joins no waiting list. Rather talk first? Book your free 15-minute consultation.

Have your child's words or sounds been on your mind?

A licensed therapist and our team read every request, and our team answers within one business day. Share a line or two about how your child talks.

Whether a home visit or a video call suits you better, we can do either. We visit homes in Studio City. For a school visit, the school has to agree and a parent has to give written consent. Ask if you would like a private office in Westlake Village instead.

How does a pediatric speech evaluation in Studio City work?

You and the therapist start with a talk about your child's history and what you have noticed. Then your child plays, with tests chosen for age tucked into the play.

In the play, the therapist may notice how your child follows a direction, makes a request, and says certain sounds. Your child's age and your worries guide which areas get a closer look, and what you report from home counts beside the tests. With a toddler, the therapist may work in short stretches and build in breaks.

Nita Anavim, M.S., CCC-SLP, started this practice with an occupational therapist and leads each speech evaluation herself. Our speech evaluation page has more detail, and speech therapy in Studio City explains what can come next.

What do I get after the visit, and what if therapy isn't recommended?

After the evaluation, the therapist has up to 14 business days to get the written report to you. A therapy plan comes along only if therapy is recommended.

Written in everyday words, the report highlights your child's strengths and offers a specific recommendation. If therapy is not the next step, the report says so, and the therapist explains what to watch for.

When therapy is recommended, it can begin before the report is finished. Counting from the call, the soonest home or video session is 5 days away.

What does the Los Angeles Public Library list for Studio City families?

In October 2026, the library listed Baby Time at its Studio City Branch, for babies ages 18 months and younger. The listing gave 10:30 to 11:30am, with Monday, November 9, 2026 and Monday, December 14, 2026 among the dates.

In October 2026, the branch also listed STAR Storytime and Crafts on Wednesdays at 4pm, until December 31, 2026. The listing said volunteers read to children, whether one-on-one or in small groups. It also said a child can take home a free book to keep after three STAR storytimes at the branch.

Both listings say no sign-up is required. The Studio City Branch page also lists Russian and Spanish language collections, and Book Bundles To Go among its resources. If your child hears Russian, Spanish, or another language at home, you can mention it on the free call.

Is there a city recreation center in Studio City?

Yes. The City of Los Angeles lists North Weddington Recreation Center in Studio City, and Afterschool, Camps, and Arts and Crafts are among its cultural programs.

The listing gives the address as 10844 Acama St.

Can we use insurance, or pay another way?

Through Village, families can use insurance for the evaluation, which counts as a clinical service. Coverage is set plan by plan.

Village bills your plan, and you pay a copay or deductible based on that plan. Each visit also carries a separate fee from Village. Several major insurers have PPO plans on Village's list, and TRICARE is there too.

Anyone paying privately gets a superbill to send along to their insurer for possible reimbursement. Ahead of any commitment, we go over coverage with you during the free call. Bring your plan questions by booking a free consultation.
