Pediatric speech evaluation in Beverly Hills, led by a licensed therapist
A licensed speech-language pathologist leads the evaluation. We visit homes in Beverly Hills. You can choose video instead.
Birth to 18 years of age
Home or video; a private Westlake Village office is there on request
Three business days at most after the free 15-minute call
Perhaps a teacher mentioned your child's speech, or your child's pediatrician did. Perhaps you were the first to wonder. Either way, a pediatric speech evaluation in Beverly Hills is a visit of talk and play. A licensed speech-language pathologist notes what your child understands, which words your child says, and how clear each sound is. No diagnosis or referral is needed.
Could you come to our home, and how quickly could we start?
Yes: Beverly Hills is in our home-visit area. If the free call shows an evaluation fits, it takes place within 3 business days.
Video is possible as well. Before a visit at your child's school, we need the school's agreement and your written consent. A private Westlake Village office is there on request.
The visit for the evaluation lasts about 60 to 90 minutes, depending on age, areas covered, and the day your child is having. As of October 2026, home or video therapy here comes with no waiting list. To hear more, request a free consultation.
Something about your child's talking on your mind?

What is a pediatric speech evaluation in Beverly Hills like for a child?
Much of the visit looks like play, with the therapist watching closely. You also talk through your concerns and your child's history.
Tests are chosen for your child's age. Examples of what the therapist may look at include understanding, talking, speech sounds, and connecting with people. What you tell the therapist is part of the picture, too.
Nita Anavim, M.S., CCC-SLP, serves Therapy Clubhouse as a co-founder. She leads each speech evaluation. Our main speech evaluation page gives the wider view.
What do we receive once the visit is over?
Your written report arrives within fourteen business days, counted from the day of the evaluation. The report includes a therapy plan when therapy is part of its recommendation.
The report is in everyday words. You read what your child does well, then a clear recommendation: therapy, monitoring, or strategies for home. Your pediatrician and your child's school can see the report too, if you choose to share it.
When therapy is not what your child needs next, the report says so honestly. The therapist also explains what to watch for. Should therapy follow, speech therapy in Beverly Hills shows what sessions can look like.
What should I know about Beverly Hills Unified's preschool and transitional kindergarten?
Early learning at Beverly Hills Unified includes Beverly Hills Preschool and transitional kindergarten (TK). The district's enrollment page says TK is offered at El Rodeo Elementary School and Horace Mann Elementary.
The district says it has offered TK for many years. In the district's Beverly Hills Preschool Parent Handbook for 2026 to 2027, learning groups and circle times happen every day. Children learn group basics there: raising their hands, waiting their turn, and answering when called upon.
The handbook says the curriculum uses emotional skills, such as expressing feelings, building vocabulary, and communicating effectively. It also names early literacy, such as how to handle a book and recognizing letters, words, and sounds. Children who may not be fluent in English, it adds, will have the opportunity to learn through listening and participating in learning groups, while also engaging with new friends.
Who do I contact at the school district about an assessment?
Contact your local school district if you suspect your child may have a disability, says the Tri-City SELPA's Child Find page. It lists a contact line for Beverly Hills Unified School District.
The page adds that Child Find activities inform parents and guardians of their right to refer their child for a special education assessment. Such an assessment is used to determine eligibility and the need for special education services.
No matter which private school your child attends, the SELPA's Private School Services page says to contact your District of Residence to request an assessment. That is the district where your child lives. Under an agreement between the SELPAs within Los Angeles County, the page adds, that district completes all assessments for children in private school.
Can a child who is not yet three have an evaluation?
Yes, a baby or toddler can have an evaluation. Children from birth to 18 are seen, and toddlers may need shorter stretches of work with rests in between.
Beverly Hills Preschool's handbook for 2026 to 2027 says children must turn three years of age by the first day they attend school. Westside Regional Center's intake page notes that for young children this may be the first assessment. A family may not have any prior records.
Does insurance apply to the evaluation?
Yes: Village, our partner for insurance, bills your plan for clinical services such as this evaluation. Coverage depends on the plan.
Your plan sets what you owe, whether that is a copay or a deductible. Village also bills a per-visit charge of its own. Several major insurers' PPO plans are accepted by Village, along with TRICARE.
If you pay privately instead, we give you a superbill that your insurer may consider for reimbursement. Not sure what your plan covers? Raise it on a free consultation, and we will check it for you before you commit to anything.
A few last questions, answered plainly
After I send the form, who answers and how soon?
A licensed therapist reads your request. The reply comes within one business day. If an evaluation seems right after your free 15-minute call, it follows within 3 business days.
Can I book without a note from our pediatrician?
Yes. Neither a diagnosis nor a referral is required for the free call or the evaluation. You can share the written report with your pediatrician whenever you like.
Does the free call commit us to an evaluation?
No. The free call lasts 15 minutes. It is a conversation about what you are seeing and about next steps. If you choose to move forward, the evaluation comes after it.
Speech evaluation pages also exist for Santa Monica, Palms, and Sherman Oaks. Wondering about hands, movement, or senses instead? The Beverly Hills page also covers occupational therapy.
Not sure if your child needs therapy?
Start with a free 15 minute consultation. No commitment, just clarity on whether your child would benefit and what the next step looks like.
