Maybe a preschool teacher mentioned that your child is hard to understand. Or maybe new places and new routines seem extra hard on your child. Speech and occupational therapy in Pacific Palisades can meet your family where you are right now. One of our licensed speech or occupational therapists can see a Palisades child at home or at school. We see children from birth to 18, and video works anywhere in California. No diagnosis or referral is needed. Reach out whenever you're ready.

Do you come to Pacific Palisades homes?

Yes. We visit homes in Pacific Palisades and the Palisades Highlands, and, with your written consent, schools, preschools, and daycares too.

Founded in 1922, Pacific Palisades is now part of the City of Los Angeles. It has had its own community council, the Pacific Palisades Community Council, since 1973.

If your family is staying somewhere else while you rebuild, tell us where you are. Telehealth works anywhere in California, and our home-visit area covers many Westside and San Fernando Valley neighborhoods.

Nearby, we also visit Brentwood, Santa Monica, and Malibu.

Which school district and regional center serve Pacific Palisades?

The Los Angeles Unified School District runs the public schools here. Westside Regional Center lists Pacific Palisades as part of its area. It serves children under 3, plus older children who have developmental needs.

A concern at school

Once a child reaches TK, LAUSD's Child Find page says to start with the principal at the public school your address is assigned to. A preschool-age child, 2 years 10 months or older, is referred to LAUSD's Early Childhood Special Education office.

Regional center help

Westside Regional Center runs Early Start for children from birth to 3 and the Lanterman Program after that. Families begin with an online intake referral.

Support from other parents

The Westside Family Resource and Empowerment Center is staffed by experienced parents and family members who offer emotional, technical, and practical support.

Is there a storytime in Pacific Palisades right now?

Yes. A temporary Palisades Branch Library is open in the library parking lot, Tuesday through Saturday afternoons. The library lists a monthly Baby and Toddler Storytime there.

The storytime is listed for the first Wednesday of the month at 10:30 a.m., in the Green Bungalow, for babies and toddlers up to 36 months. Palisades Recreation Center is closed for programming after the fire, and in September 2026 the city reported a groundbreaking on its reconstruction.

Can we start speech and occupational therapy in Pacific Palisades right away?

Yes. Start with a free phone consultation, about 15 minutes long, with a licensed therapist. Nobody is put on a waiting list in October 2026.

If an evaluation is the next step, we can schedule it within 3 business days. It can take place in your home, at school, by video, or, if you ask, in a private office we use in Westlake Village. Here is how the speech evaluation runs and how the OT evaluation runs. Inside 14 business days, a written report is yours to keep, along with a treatment plan if therapy is recommended.

Do all your services come to the Palisades?

All of them, apart from the social skills groups in Westlake Village. Every other service can take place at your home or your child's school, here or wherever you're staying in our visit area.

That includes articulation therapy when speech sounds are unclear and sensory integration therapy for big reactions to sound and movement. It also includes parent coaching you can use at home. Nita Anavim, M.S., CCC-SLP, runs our speech program, and Rachel Yashouafar, MA, OTR/L, our OT program. The two founded the practice. The full list of services is one click away.

Can a Palisades family use insurance for therapy?

That depends on the plan. Village, which handles our insurance billing, files claims with TRICARE or with the PPO plans of several major insurers. It adds a per-visit charge of its own.

Westside Regional Center serves the Palisades. We're a provider only for Tri-Counties Regional Center, which doesn't serve Los Angeles County. So Palisades families choose Village or private pay. If you pay privately, you receive a superbill, and your plan may cover part of it out of network. See how Village billing works and the ways families pay us.

What else do Palisades parents ask us?

Can you still see us if we've moved for now?

Yes. Tell us where you're staying. Inside our home-visit area, a therapist can come to you; anywhere in California, we can meet by video. Our Westlake Village clinic adds another option from December 1, 2026.

Can therapy happen at a temporary school campus?

Yes, temporary campuses included. With your signed consent and the school's approval, we coordinate with the staff on timing and a room that works.

Will I learn how to help at home?

Yes. Every treatment plan includes parent coaching, so you know what to practice between visits.

Not sure if your child needs therapy?

“Children reach developmental milestones in how they play, learn, speak, act, and move; monitoring development is important.”

CDC, About Learn the Signs. Act Early.

Each milestone the CDC lists for an age is a skill that at least 3 out of 4 children are expected to have by then.

This has been a hard stretch for many Palisades families. If something about your child's words, play, or routines is on your mind, you don't have to carry it alone. Let's talk about it.
