Maybe your child's teacher mentioned that writing takes much longer than it does for classmates. Or maybe you have noticed that your child avoids crayons, puzzles, and anything with small pieces. Speech and occupational therapy in Brentwood can start at home, with no extra stop in the week. Brentwood kids of any age from birth to 18 can work with a licensed therapist in speech or occupational therapy. Sessions happen in the house, in class, or on video. No diagnosis or referral is needed. Brentwood parents can reach us directly.
Do you cover Brentwood, including Mandeville Canyon?
Yes. Brentwood is part of our home-visit area, Mandeville Canyon included. If you sign a consent form, school and preschool visits are possible too.
According to the Brentwood Community Council, most of Brentwood is in the City of Los Angeles, with a small piece of unincorporated county land. The council's general boundaries run from Mulholland Drive down to Wilshire Boulevard, on the west side of the 405.
Close by, we also visit Pacific Palisades, Bel Air, and Westwood.
Request your free 15-minute consultation
Tell us what you are noticing about your child. A licensed therapist reads every message, not an assistant, and replies within one business day. The consultation is free, lasts about 15 minutes, and carries no obligation. There is no waiting list. If you would rather talk now, call (805) 702-3427.
Who runs Brentwood's public schools, and which regional center covers it?
Public schools in Brentwood belong to the Los Angeles Unified School District. Westside Regional Center includes 90049, Brentwood's ZIP code, in its service area.
Brentwood Science Magnet is a K to 5 school on Gretna Green Way. It says it is located in Brentwood, while its students come from all over Los Angeles.
Is your child in TK or older? LAUSD's Child Find page says to begin with the principal of the public school assigned to your home address. For preschoolers from 2 years 10 months, the page names the Early Childhood Special Education office as the contact.
Westside Regional Center's Early Start Program is for babies and toddlers up to age 3, and families begin with an online intake referral. Because 90049 also reaches past Brentwood, confirm your address when you call.
Where can young kids read and play in Brentwood?
The Donald Bruce Kaufman Brentwood Branch Library sits on San Vicente Boulevard. Barrington Recreation Center on Barrington Avenue lists a children's play area.
In early October 2026, the library's calendar listed Read With STAR Volunteer sessions. Children read with a volunteer and can earn a free book.
How does speech and occupational therapy in Brentwood get going?
It begins with a free 15-minute consultation, where you describe what you are noticing and ask anything you like. If an evaluation is the right move, we schedule it within 3 business days.
Brentwood families who would rather not wait for paperwork can begin sessions before the report is written. A first visit is possible 5 days after that first call. That report arrives within 14 business days, with a treatment plan if therapy is recommended. Read more about our speech evaluations and our OT evaluations.
Which services can Brentwood families have at home or school?
Every one but social skills groups. Those are run in Westlake Village, where we use a private Townsgate Road office until the clinic opens.
Brentwood families can bring handwriting and fine motor therapy, childhood apraxia of speech therapy, or myofunctional therapy home. The same goes for speech and occupational therapy in general. Co-founders Rachel Yashouafar, MA, OTR/L (occupational therapy), and Nita Anavim, M.S., CCC-SLP (speech), lead their two fields. Here is the complete service list.

How does insurance work for Brentwood families?
It depends on the plan you have. Village, our insurance partner, accepts PPO plans from several major insurers as well as TRICARE. It charges a fee per visit besides your copay or deductible.
Since Tri-Counties Regional Center, the one we work with, doesn't cover Los Angeles County, Brentwood families choose between Village and private pay. Private pay comes with a superbill your plan may partly reimburse. See insurance through Village and all of our payment options.
What else comes up for Brentwood parents?
Would we need to come to Westlake Village?
Only if you want to. Brentwood sessions take place in your living room, at school, or over video. On December 1, 2026, our clinic at 2535 Townsgate Road becomes one more option, for anyone who likes it.
Can you see my child at Brentwood Science Magnet or a private school?
Yes. You sign a consent form, and then the school says yes. We take it from there, including finding a room that works for the session.
Can you help with handwriting?
Yes. Handwriting gets a plan of its own with an occupational therapist, shaped by how old your child is and by the evaluation's results.
“Parenting is a process that prepares your child for independence.”
Among U.S. children ages 3 to 17 with a voice, speech, or language disorder, 59.7 percent received intervention services in the past year. That is more than half, according to the NIDCD.
If schoolwork or small daily tasks look harder for your child than you expected, asking about it is the right call. Tell us what you've noticed in Brentwood, and we'll go from there.
