Maybe your child's kindergarten teacher sent home a note about pencil grip. Or maybe homework has turned into a nightly standoff, and you're not sure why. Speech and occupational therapy in Santa Monica can start in your own living room. Our licensed speech and occupational therapists meet Santa Monica children, newborn to 18, where they live and learn. Video works when a week gets busy. No diagnosis or referral is needed. Santa Monica parents can phone us first.
Can you see my child at home in Santa Monica?
Yes. We schedule home visits all over Santa Monica. With your written permission, we can also hold sessions at a school, preschool, or daycare.
Santa Monica has been a city since December 9, 1886. Its public schools are run by Santa Monica-Malibu Unified, whose headquarters is right here in Santa Monica.
Next door, we also visit Pacific Palisades, Brentwood, and West Los Angeles.

What school district and regional center cover Santa Monica?
Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District serves Santa Monica. Westside Regional Center lists the city in its service area, along with ZIP codes 90401 to 90405. That covers children under 3 and older children with developmental needs.
Franklin Elementary and Roosevelt Elementary both sit on Montana Avenue, and Grant Elementary is on Pearl Street. Franklin and Grant include preschool classes.
The district's special education department notes that parents and guardians have the right to ask for a special education assessment of their child. A conversation with your child's school is usually the first step.
The district's Child Development Services department runs an Infant/Toddler Center, state and district preschool programs, and a school-age program.
Westside Regional Center's intake begins with an online referral. Its Early Start Program is for children from birth to 3, and its Lanterman Program covers older children.
Where can young kids play and read in Santa Monica?
Tongva Park on Ocean Avenue lists children's play areas and splash pads. The Santa Monica Public Library's Main Library is on Santa Monica Boulevard.
Asking for a turn at the splash pad is a small, everyday chance to use the skills your child is building. So is naming what you see on a walk.
What starts speech and occupational therapy in Santa Monica?
One free phone consultation. You spend about 15 minutes with a licensed therapist, describing what you've seen, and leave knowing whether an evaluation is worth doing.
We can hold the evaluation within 3 business days of that call, at your Santa Monica home, at school, or by video. Read about speech evaluations at Therapy Clubhouse and about OT evaluations. Within 14 business days, you'll have the report in writing, plus a treatment plan if therapy is recommended.
Can Santa Monica children get every service at home?
Every service but one comes to Santa Monica homes and schools. The exception: social skills groups, held only in Westlake Village.
Santa Monica families can choose handwriting and fine motor help for pencil grip, or developmental delay therapy when skills come later than expected. Another option is feeding therapy for a very short list of foods. Our OT lead is Rachel Yashouafar, MA, OTR/L, and our speech lead is Nita Anavim, M.S., CCC-SLP. Together they founded Therapy Clubhouse. Look through all our services.

What payment options do Santa Monica families have?
Two. First, insurance through our partner Village: Village bills TRICARE, and it bills PPO plans from several major insurers. A separate Village fee applies to each visit. Second, paying privately, which comes with a superbill for possible insurance reimbursement.
Santa Monica is in Westside Regional Center's area. Tri-Counties, the regional center we're a provider for, covers Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo counties. So regional center funding through us isn't an option here. Details are on the Village insurance page and our payment options page.
What else do Santa Monica parents ask?
Is your clinic in Santa Monica?
No. Our one clinic opens December 1, 2026, on Townsgate Road in Westlake Village. For Santa Monica families, we come to you at home or school, or meet by video.
Can sessions happen at Franklin, Grant, Roosevelt, or a private school?
Yes, after you sign a consent form and your child's school agrees. We handle the conversation with the school and settle the time and the room. Preschools and daycares work as well.
Can you help with handwriting and homework battles?
Yes. Handwriting can be the center of an OT plan, with practice suited to your child's age and to what the evaluation shows.
“Occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants focus on the things you want and need to do in your daily life.”
Stuttering shows up most often in young children between 2 and 6, though it can happen at any age, the NIDCD notes.
Whether the question started with a teacher's note or your own sense that something is off, you're right to look into it. Tell us what homework time looks like at your house.
