Maybe there is a lot your child wants to say, but the words get stuck or come out in the wrong order. Or maybe their teacher said following directions in class is a daily struggle. Speech and occupational therapy in Palms can happen in your apartment, your house, or your child's classroom. Our licensed speech and occupational therapists see Palms children from birth to 18 in all of those places, and by video too. No diagnosis or referral is needed. Palms parents are welcome to call first.
Is Palms inside your home-visit area?
Yes, we visit homes in Palms. Sessions at a school, preschool, or daycare are possible as well, after your written consent and the school's agreement.
Palms has had its own neighborhood council since December 14, 2004. The council covers the area south of National Boulevard and the 10, east of the 405, down to the Culver City line. City Planning groups Palms with Mar Vista and Del Rey in one community plan area.
Around the corner, we also visit Mar Vista, Culver City, and West Los Angeles.

Can a Palms child get any of your services at home?
Any of them but one. Social skills groups take place in Westlake Village; the rest come to Palms homes and schools.
For Palms kids, that can mean stuttering and fluency therapy or language therapy for trouble putting words together. It can also mean social communication therapy for the unwritten rules of talking and play. Nita Anavim, M.S., CCC-SLP, is our speech lead for Palms families, and Rachel Yashouafar, MA, OTR/L, is our OT lead. The two are co-founders. All of our services are listed in one place.
Speech therapy and OT each have a Palms page of their own: pediatric speech therapy in Palms and pediatric occupational therapy in Palms. The evaluations have pages too: pediatric speech evaluation in Palms and pediatric OT evaluation in Palms.
How do Palms families cover the cost of therapy?
The answer depends on your insurance. In Palms, insurance goes through our partner Village. TRICARE works, and so do PPO plans from several big insurers, with a Village fee added to each visit.
Palms is in Westside Regional Center's area. We're a provider for one regional center, Tri-Counties Regional Center. It covers San Luis Obispo County, Santa Barbara County, and Ventura County. That's why Palms families use Village or private pay; private payers receive a superbill. Find out how Village billing works for families and what other payment options there are.
What else might Palms parents want to know?
Does therapy have to happen at home?
No. Palms families pick what works: home, school, or video. From December 1, 2026, there is also our new clinic in Westlake Village.
Can you see my child at Charnock Road or another school?
Yes. With a signed consent from you and an OK from the school, we sort out timing and the room with the staff. Private schools, preschools, and daycares are included.
Can you help with stuttering?
Yes. Stuttering therapy is for children whose sounds or words repeat or get stuck. You learn ways to make talking easier at home.
“The first signs of communication occur when an infant learns that a cry will bring food, comfort, and companionship.”
A voice, speech, or language disorder affected about 7 in 100 U.S. children ages 3 to 17 in a single year, NIDCD figures show.
